This weekend we are back in Big Town with Michelle’s crew.
Being just down the road from our house (average 12 minutes door to door) makes Big Town one of our favorite venues.
The show at Big Town is the first Dallas show we started going to when we moved here some 13 years ago and is still one of our favorite venues, in part because it is one of the few shows Fred Whitehurst, “The Glock Doc.” still goes to. Fred was one of the first show vendors to befriend us and give us advice on Glocks. We’ve watched vendors grow their businesses and we have also mourned the passing of quite a few old timers over the years.
If I’m coming off a bit sentimental this weekend it is because the gravity of Sunday being the 15th anniversary of 9/11. We all pulled together when America was attacked and realized how important friendship and relationships are.
The people we see every weekend on both sides of the tables are like family. Doesn’t mean we like everyone equally any more than in any other family but the concern runs deep.
Any how well be at Big Town this weekend in our usual spot.
